Doctors have named the most “alarming symptoms” of high blood pressure

Hypertension is considered one of the most common and dangerous diseases in the world. Because the condition usually doesn't show any symptoms, many people don't even know they're at risk of death.

Doctors name the most

Blood pressure is recorded using two numbers – systolic and diastolic. According to the NHS, systolic pressure (the top number) is the force with which the heart pumps blood around the body. Diastolic pressure (the bottom number) is the resistance to blood flow in the blood vessels.

Ideal blood pressure is considered to be between 90/60 and 120/80 mm Hg. However, if this value is at a level of 140/90 mm Hg. st., then we are already talking about hypertension, writes Express.

Researchers warn that high blood pressure is usually accompanied by “the presence of acute target organ damage”. As a result, a person may experience a “wave of alarming symptoms”, such as shortness of breath.

Other signs of hypertension include severe chest pain, headache, nausea, feelings of anxiety and seizures. In case of any such symptoms, doctors urge to seek immediate medical attention.
