At the same time, men may experience a testosterone deficiency. Several factors indicate its occurrence.
Testosterone is a sex hormone that performs a number of tasks in the male body. These include the production of sperm and red blood cells, regulation of body weight, regulation of bone structure, and distribution of fat deposits. Testosterone deficiency can occur in 40% of men over the age of 45.
Medical experts have named several symptoms that indicate a lack of this important hormone for men – depression, increased body fat, brain fog, low sex drive, and erectile dysfunction.
As urologists said, all these negative factors can affect both mental and physical health. Separately, experts noted that every second man suffering from type 2 diabetes suffers from low testosterone levels.
The treatment process for this disease is as follows – patients need to undergo testosterone replacement therapy, which is prescribed after a doctor's consultation. Something similar happens in women with menopause – they are prescribed hormone replacement therapy.
