Doctors have warned about a change in skin color when taking a popular antipyretic

For according to doctors of the National Health Service of Great Britain, taking paracetamol can cause side effects, and some of them are unexpected. It will be about changing the color of the skin.

Paracetamol is popular in many countries. It effectively helps to reduce pain and bring down the temperature. Doctors warn that with regular use of medication, the skin of the fingers and lips may become bluish.

It is important not to allow an overdose of drugs, even in case of feeling unwell. But it is very easy to violate the dosage – paracetamol is contained in many syrups and other drugs that reduce temperature. For example, it is present in almost all sachets that need to be diluted with water, resulting in a flavored drink. Such powders are actively advertised.

Other side effects of paracetamol include diarrhea, increased sweating, nausea or vomiting, and abdominal pain. A simultaneous intake of paracetamol in a dose of more than 10 g in adults or more than 140 mg/kg in children leads to poisoning, which is accompanied by severe liver damage.

As follows from the instructions for use, paracetamol has analgesic, antipyretic and very weak anti-inflammatory effect, which is associated with its effect on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus and weak ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues.

Experts also recommend paying more attention to the amount of medication you take.

< p>Paracetamol cannot be taken with a hangover. This will increase the load on the liver. As for specific diseases, the drug is not recommended for patients with a diseased liver, for example, with cirrhosis.

You also need to be more careful with the dosage of paracetamol. The maximum dose is three grams per day. Four grams can already cause toxic damage to the liver.

Recently in the USA and a number of European countries, paracetamol has been banned for use due to dangerous side effects, mainly related to its pronounced hepatotoxicity in large doses.
