A lot who knows that you should not eat a few hours before bedtime, but not everyone follows this rule. American scientists conducted an experiment to clearly show the consequences of such a bad habit.
The study lasted 16 weeks, during the first eight weeks, volunteers ate three times a day from eight in the morning until seven in the evening and had two snacks.

Then they changed their diet: the participants could eat the same number of times a day, but at a different time – from noon to eleven o'clock in the evening. Fifteen days divided the two phases of the experiment.
The results showed that the later the last meal was, the greater the weight. In addition, the body of the participants did not absorb the food consumed in the same way. “A late dinner can lead to negative indicators in terms of weight, energy, and the production of hormones such as glucose and insulin changes. Because of this, the risk of developing diabetes, cholesterol and triglycerides increases, and cardiovascular diseases can also occur,” commented Kelly Ellison, professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania.
It is also emphasized that if it is present earlier, then hormones ghrelin and leptin, which stimulate appetite and cause a feeling of satiety.
Thus, the earlier the last meal, the sooner the feeling of satiety will come and the more the body will regulate the desire to “eat something” for the night.
