Doctors talked about “useful” products that are better to remove from the kitchen
The pursuit of a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition can lead to the fact that products that are actually better avoided get into the daily menu. Manufacturers promote them as “healthy”, but doctors and nutritionists recommend limiting their use or completely excluding them from the diet.
Aired rice bread is considered by many to be one of the main products of the “Old School” of dietary nutrition. The experts at Eat This, Not That! explain that in fact such breads have a very high glycemic index of 82 out of 100. Carbohydrates from them are absorbed very quickly, which gives a temporary surge of energy, but then hunger quickly returns. This can lead to overeating and is potentially dangerous for people with a predisposition to diabetes.
Lea Kaufman, a nutritionist from New York, points out that ready-made juices are much less healthy compared to fruits. “When you juice foods, you deprive them of fiber, one of the main benefits of eating whole fruits and vegetables. The result is a drink with such concentrated sweetness that it can contain as much sugar as in carbonated water,” explains the specialist.
Gastroenterologist Rebecca Gross believes that you should avoid any products , which are promoted as “low-fat”. “I would rather eat a smaller portion of food that is naturally high in fat or sugar than use artificial substitutes. In most cases, natural food tastes better, brings more pleasure and does not cause gastrointestinal disorders that can be associated with excessively processed foods,” the doctor said.
