Doctors told how you can determine your cholesterol level

Many people suffer from high cholesterol. And the problem is that if it is not treated, dangerous complications can arise.

According to Dr. of Medical Sciences and cardiologist at Dignity Health St. Mary Nikhil Kapoor, high cholesterol can lead to stroke, heart disease, and vascular disease.

Among the factors that affect cholesterol levels are heredity, family history, poor diet, diabetes, and others.

You can determine whether your cholesterol level is too high with a blood test. There is a special cholesterol test. It helps to find out the level of “good”, “bad” and total cholesterol in the blood.

Also, high cholesterol may not manifest itself in any way. But smoking, obesity, diabetes, and being overweight increase the likelihood of developing this condition.

The simplest and most effective ways to lower cholesterol are regular physical activity, limiting alcohol consumption, and eating foods that are good for the heart.
