Carbohydrates do not have the best reputation among fans of popular diets. Many of them are based on significantly limiting the consumption of carbohydrates or their complete exclusion. This is especially attractive to those who want to lose weight.
First of all, the consumption of harmful carbohydrate products, such as those containing refined sugar, should be limited. These include doughnuts, cakes and confectionery. They are high in calories and do not bring benefits.
For proper nutrition, it is necessary to choose healthy foods containing carbohydrates. These are fruits and vegetables, rice, whole grain bread. A portion of carbohydrates should take up no more than a quarter of a plate. And even when losing weight, they should become an integral part of a proper diet.
