Porridge cooked from any one cereal should not be eaten every day, experts believe.
It turns out that many cereals that contain valuable microelements for health and are considered useful are not suitable for daily consumption.
Corn.Having a number of advantages, such porridge can have a negative effect on the body – primarily because it is an allergenic product that can cause adverse symptoms. In addition, corn porridge has a high GI (glycemic index), that is, after eating it, the glucose content in the blood increases sharply. People with prediabetes and diabetes should not eat this porridge.
Pearl.Millet contains compounds that interfere with iodine metabolism. For this reason, millet porridge should not be present in the daily diet, as well as in the diet of people who have problems with thyroid hormone deficiency (hypothyroidism). With increased acidity of the stomach or gastritis, ulcers, millet porridge can also worsen well-being.
Oatmeal. Oats contain phytic acid, which has the property of slowing down the absorption of calcium. If you eat oatmeal every day, this can lead to a decrease in the content of a trace element necessary for bone health and developed muscles. As a result, the risk of osteoporosis increases.
Semolina. This porridge is devoid of fiber, that is, the absorption of nutrients from it occurs very quickly. Since it is mainly carbohydrates, after eating semolina, the blood sugar level increases sharply. If it is used frequently, the result is a set of extra pounds and the formation of insulin resistance – a disorder that leads to the development of type 2 diabetes. In addition, semolina porridge, which was prepared in milk, prevents the normal absorption of iron.
