Recent research suggests that dreams can represent a combination of fragments of many life experiences, and also help to predict future events.
One of the conclusions made by specialists indicates that dreams are a reflection of the body's memory processing function. According to the authors of the study, the plots of dreams that people see are largely based on information stored in memory from the past – but dreams can also contain warnings about the future.
“Dreams are the result of a process that often combines fragments of many life events and predicts future events,” said the leading researcher of the project, Dr. Cognitive Neurobiology Erin Wamsley.
Scientists came to the conclusion that memory is involved in the formation of dreams by the brain. from several sources at once – events of the current life, as well as what happened in the past. Compiling a single scenario from them, he can create a sequel, which is a kind of prediction of the future. At the same time, scientists state, future events that can be seen in a dream rarely have a realistic form.
