In an interview with a cardiologist, a therapist, a warning was sounded that sleepiness that does not go away in a person who eating coffee can be an alarming sign of existing health problems.
“In some cases, coffee may not help to overcome drowsiness. This most often happens in a situation where drowsiness is a manifestation of diseases,” the doctor noted.
The doctor named disorders and diseases in which coffee may not be invigorating, and drowsiness and lethargy will still be felt.
- Hypothyroidism: reduced thyroid function.
- Anemia (anemia).
- Neurological diseases: particularly Parkinson's disease.
- Vitamin D deficiency.
The therapist added that daytime sleepiness is often the result of poor or insufficient sleep and lack of sleep hygiene. The doctor advised me to sleep in a dark, well-ventilated bedroom.
