Dermatologists called common products that can cause inflammation, acne, accelerate the appearance of wrinkles. “The food we eat also plays a role in how our skin looks and feels,” explains New York dermatologist Michelle Green.
Some foods, she says, can do more harm than good. you can imagine. “Fast food, dairy products, sugar and chocolate, and fried foods can contribute to wrinkles, acne and uneven skin tone,” she said.
Five types of foods that are bad for the skin:
Processed meat
“Processed meat is high in saturated fat and nitrates, which cause inflammation,” says MD, certified dermatologist Yoram Hart. He cited hot dogs, bacon and pepperoni as examples.
Fatty meats
“Eating meats high in saturated fat can contribute to acne,” says Dr. Green. Instead of fatty meat, Dr. Green suggests eating more lean meats – chicken, fish and turkey.
Cow's milk and other dairy products
Yoram Hart, citing research, says that consuming large amounts of dairy products (especially cow's milk) can cause acne breakouts. Dairy products made from cow's milk, such as yogurt and cheese, increase levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which causes sebaceous glands to increase in size, sebum production, and acne breakouts. He noted that skim milk causes more acne than regular milk. The reason may be the higher sugar content in such products.
Meals from a microwave oven
“Food cooked in a microwave oven is harmful because in food melts plastic, forcing your body to absorb plastic toxins,” says MD Adrienne O'Connell. In addition, microwave dishes are usually salty, which can also affect the insulin factor and affect the skin.
