The nutritionist named the substances contained in different products and make the body resistant to stress, protect against depression and increase feelings of emotional satisfaction.
The nutritionist said in an interview that one of the best products that help the body withstand stress is chicken eggs. They contain tryptophan, an amino acid, under the influence of which the “hormone of joy” serotonin is produced, thanks to which tension and irritability are relieved, relaxation and pacification occur, and sound sleep is achieved.
The doctor added that coping with stress, anxiety and negativism are also helped by products that stimulate the synthesis of another hormone responsible for positive emotions – dopamine. For this, the doctor advised to include foods with group B vitamins in the diet.
“Deficiency of group B vitamins can be the cause of depression, anxiety or low mood. Beef, pork, chicken, leafy greens, vegetables, citrus fruits, rice, nuts are rich in them,” the nutritionist listed.
Foods containing fatty acids will also be useful for the nervous system, which has to go through difficult times. omega-3, as well as protein. Omega-3 has a positive effect on the brain, and protein food supports the production of neurotransmitters that ensure the transmission of nerve impulses and a good mood.
