English doctors told how to reduce the risk of a heart attack

A heart attack occurs when the heart does not have enough blood. This can be a consequence of various diseases, such as blockage of blood vessels. However, the main cause of heart attacks is a weak heart muscle. The heart simply cannot cope with the load and a spasm occurs.

To prevent this from happening, the heart needs to be trained. According to the National Health Service (NHS) in England, the ideal activity for strengthening the heart is walking, swimming and dancing. Anaerobic training makes the heart beat faster and trains it.

“The heart is a muscle just like any other, and it needs exercise just as much. A strong heart will be able to pump more blood with less effort,” the NHS emphasizes.

The minimum physical activity recommended by doctors is 150 minutes a week. This is enough to properly pump blood through your body and give your heart a chance to get a good workout.

During running, walking or swimming, doctors recommend making sounds – for example, talking or shouting something. But singing is not recommended – it takes your breath away. A combination of anaerobic training and strength exercises works even better.
