Everyday products contain 'forever chemicals'

Scientists have expressed concern about high levels of so-called “eternal chemicals” that used in everyday products from cosmetics to food containers. Their content in the breast milk of American mothers is 2,000 times higher than the maximum permissible level in groundwater.

Various toxic chemicals were found in 100% of breast milk samples taken from American mothers in a new study. Scientists conducted 50 tests of this milk and all tests came back positive for the presence of PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances) – artificially created chemicals that do not break down in the environment and are associated with serious health problems. Unofficially, scientists call them “eternal chemicals”, they get into the soil, water and even compost.

These chemicals can be stored in the human body for many days and even months before they are released. And this increases the risk of severe disorders, birth defects and all kinds of diseases, including tumors.

Moreover, a team of researchers from the University of Indiana and the University of Washington said that in some analyzes the level of PFAS in breast milk was 2,000 times higher than the maximum permissible level of them in drinking water.

One can easily imagine what a poisonous cocktail babies who are breastfed by such mothers receive. The authors of this study consider the obtained conclusions to be a reason for very serious concerns.
