For winter garlic, you need to create appropriate conditions so that it does not sprout ahead of time and does not spoil. Follow the recommendations of experts, then the harvest will please both in quantity and quality.
Fertilizers. Do not plant winter garlic where there is fresh manure dug up in the beds. Experts recommend compost, ash, or mineral fertilizers.
A freshly dug bed. The bed for winter garlic should be prepared in advance, about 2 weeks in advance. If this rule is not followed, the garlic will go deep and will not be able to germinate.
Location of the bed. Do not plant in low-lying areas where there is a risk of waterlogging. The garlic will rot.
Soil acidity. Garlic needs neutral acidity. If acidic soil is used for the bed, the garlic will get sick and grow small.
