Experts explained why imported soil is dangerous for the vegetable garden

You have problem soil on your plot , in which the sown crops do not grow well. You decide to bring in a layer of fertile soil to improve the situation. But instead, it can be significantly worsened. Experts have explained why exactly this can happen.

Dangers of imported soil

You cannot be sure of the quality of the soil. It is not known where it was brought from. It is impossible to control it. Together with the soil, you can bring:

  • powdery mildew;
  • septoriasis;
  • fusarium;
  • bacterial burns.

Is it possible to avoid such damage to the country plot

Microflora can be analyzed. The analysis will show the presence of pathogens. The problem is that the analysis is not cheap, so it is unlikely that the average summer resident will order it.

Another way out of the situation is to work on the soil that is already on the site. From autumn, do not throw away plant residues, but dig them up together with the soil. You can make mulch and water with a solution with a hay stick. If you do not like this option, then make compost according to the same principle, and then let it be dug up.

When there is free space on the site, sow siderats. Timely dig into the soil so that they give nutrients to the soil. Such ecological methods will help better than taking risks with imported soil.
