Experts explained why you should plant Christmas trees on your property

In summer cottages, you can sometimes find not only fruit trees, but also Christmas trees. Not every summer resident will answer: does a Christmas tree bring any benefits, what are its pros and cons.

Details

Spruce branches are a clean, convenient and high-quality material for sheltering plants and plantings for the winter.

They will reliably cover the soil without any problems. The needles that fall off after winter will make an excellent mulch.

Such mulch is suitable for roses and lilies, primroses and chrysanthemums, garden strawberries and blueberries, raspberries and gooseberries.

Spruce needles will protect plants from dangerous pests – slugs and mice.

It is correct to plant Christmas trees around the perimeter of the plot. They will become a natural fence from prying eyes in summer and winter. They are usually planted at least 3-5 meters apart. Compost heaps are arranged between the Christmas trees.

Coniferous infusion is considered an affordable and environmentally friendly bactericidal and disinfectant.

To prevent the spruce from growing and interfering with the plot, do just two simple things. The Christmas tree should not be planted next to the house or orchard, and sanitary pruning should be carried out in autumn and spring.
