Experts have listed simple and useful supplements for morning porridge

Porridge is a popular breakfast in many countries of the world, including Ukraine. Oatmeal, buckwheat, pearl barley – the choice is quite large. All cereals have different nutrients that are good for health. However, without additives, porridge quickly gets boring. The morning meal can be made even more useful by supplementing it with certain products, scientists believe.
These are products rich in fiber. According to the Mayo Clinic, such products have a number of advantages:
- help maintain a healthy weight;
- reduce the risk of developing diabetes, some types of cancer, and heart disease;
- support intestinal health;
- reduce cholesterol levels.
To make morning porridge more tasty and useful, it is enough to add simple and affordable products: fruits, nuts or seeds – they contain a lot of fiber.
At the same time, experts remind that an excess of fiber can cause bloating, spasms and intestinal problems. Therefore, you need to know the daily fiber rate: for men and women under 50 years old, it is 38 and 25 g, respectively, and for men and women over 50 years old, it is 30 and 21 g, respectively.
