Experts have named desserts that can lead to heavy metal poisoning

Today you can find desserts that look like a real work of art. However, sometimes they can present an unexpected danger – heavy metal poisoning. And all because of one ornament used for decoration.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says it's all about the decorative glitter that has become popular in recent years.
If the packaging with such decoration does not clearly state that it is an edible element and can be used safely in the food industry, you are putting yourself at risk.
“A label indicating that a product is non-toxic does not means the product is safe for consumption,” the CDC warns. “Glitter that is really safe should be labeled as edible.”
Some glitter powders used as cake decorations are not edible, they are only labeled as “non-toxic” or “for decorative purposes.” Such elements should be removed before eating.
