Experts talked about what food can help cope with the manifestations of colds.
During the cold season, the general malaise of the body leads to a person's lack of strength. But do not forget that it is normal and balanced nutrition that can maintain strength, and a sick person needs a lot of it. There are foods that help to alleviate the effects of influenza and SARS, and also help to shorten the duration of the disease.
The first group includes those foods that are rich in vitamin D. They are one of the measures to prevent infectious colds and help the body cope with the consequences faster in the event of infection. Such foods include eggs, fatty fish and cod liver.
Experts include foods rich in zinc in the second group of products. The zinc contained in the products significantly shortens the period of the illness, reducing its duration by 1-2 days. Zinc is found in bran, sprouted wheat, nuts, cereals, legumes and meat products.
The third group of products includes those that are particularly rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to reduce the symptoms of SARS, reduces fever, thins the blood and also shortens the period of the illness itself. The highest levels of vitamin C are found in all citrus fruits, red and white currants, white cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, and sea buckthorn.
Experts remind that despite weakness and poor health, a sick body needs a normal, balanced diet. It is always necessary to follow the rules of a healthy diet, especially during illness.
