
Experts told what fish you can still eat without fear

Fish is useful for the human body, but at the same time, different concentrations of mercury are found in it. Experts told which river and marine representatives of the terrestrial fauna can still be eaten without fear.
Analysis of fish caught in different parts of the world shows the presence of mercury, in some cases doses lethal to humans have been noted. Sometimes the content of toxic substances in tuna exceeds the permissible norms by several times, this is attributed to the fact that it has a long life span.
Salmon and mackerel are capable of accumulating mercury. The latter is considered useful, as it contains a lot of polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
Scientists have named five more species of jawed fish that are dangerous to health. These include: pangasius, tilapia, eel, tilefish and sea bass.
Most of the fish caught by Ukrainian enterprises is exported, along with this, a small part of the catch enters the country's market. In addition to the accumulated mercury, river and marine aquatic vertebrates can be infected with diseases.
Experts believe that if the fish is fresh, a small amount of mercury will not cause harm, since the vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids present in it contribute to health.
