Eye health: early signs that indicate health problems

From fatigue to your appetite, there are various places you can look for health problems. However, according to an expert, one place that may be hiding the answers is your eyes. From diabetes to high cholesterol, your eyes can be early indicators of a variety of ailments.
An expert has detailed the early warning signs that point to 'wider' health problems. Between the bright sunlight and the air blowing from your fan or air conditioner, your eyes may feel especially strained right now.
Some persistent vision problems may be caused by something bigger.
Blurred Vision
“While blurred vision may simply be a sign that your prescription needs an update, it can also be an early sign of a more serious problem, such as diabetes or cataracts.”< /p>
From frequent trips to the toilet to extreme thirst, diabetes can manifest itself in a variety of subtle signs, including blurred vision.
“Spikes in blood sugar can damage the blood vessels in the retina. Damaged blood vessels swell, bleed, or may secrete fluid. This can lead to an inability to see with sharp focus and detect details in objects. It can happen in just one or both eyes.”
The good news is that most people's vision will improve once they regain control of their blood sugar.
Although high cholesterol levels are considered silent because of the lack of warning signs, a ring around the cornea can alert you to the culprit. If you notice a white ring around the iris, this could be a sign of potentially high cholesterol.
