Fashionable products from which you should not expect the effect of weight loss

Thanks to the promotion of bloggers and propaganda on forums for a healthy lifestyle, some products have gained enormous popularity. They supposedly help us lose weight. What kind of products are these and do they really have the properties attributed to them?

A nutritionist-endocrinologist analyzed some products from the trendy list and expressed her opinion.

“Spirulina. I honestly don't understand what kind of benefit people are looking for in spirulina, interfering with a smoothie with it and forcefully stuffing it. Yes, it is rich in protein and vitamins, but buckwheat, legumes, fish and seafood are also rich in all of them. The benefits of spirulina are greatly exaggerated,” says the expert.

Another trendy product is matcha. Many people like it. Drink for health if you like. But it is unlikely to help you lose weight. Does it make sense to replace coffee with matcha? Here it all depends on the preferences, since caffeine (albeit in different amounts) is contained both there and there.

Goji berries. Some are ready to spend almost the entire family budget on them for the desired effect. Unfortunately, in reality, they do not help to lose weight. In addition, they have no more vitamins and useful microelements than an ordinary apple.

Chia seeds are not recommended to be added anywhere! In addition, they are useful – they have a lot of omega-3. But you won't be able to lose weight by eating chia seeds. A cheaper alternative to this product is ordinary flaxseed.

Many people completely give up sugar in favor of sugar substitutes in the hope of improving carbohydrate metabolism and, as a result, lose weight. The expert recommends switching to sweeteners only for those diagnosed with diabetes.

Others need to review their eating habits in favor of healthier eating behaviors. You can eat sugar, but in moderation.
