Hormones play an important role in regulating the body's systems. Their deficiency can lead to various diseases of internal organs and mental problems. In men, testosterone deficiency is accompanied by metabolic disorders, heart problems, weight gain and blood sugar levels.
The endocrinologist added that testosterone deficiency is also manifested in increased fatigue, sleep disorders, muscle weakness and emotional swings.
In women, libido and energy decrease against the background of a deficiency of this hormone. But most often women suffer from this problem during menopause. The doctor emphasized that testosterone deficiency among women has not been studied so thoroughly, especially among girls of reproductive age.
The endocrinologist added that in the absence of complaints from the sexual sphere, the likelihood of testosterone deficiency is doubtful. However, a hormone test is still worth doing.
