Dr. Yaman Zorlutuna noted that a man's heart and a woman's heart have several differences. This applies to the structure of the organs and the likelihood of developing diseases.
The most people die from cardiovascular diseases in the world. Therefore, it definitely won't hurt to know how a man's heart differs from a woman's from a medical point of view. For example, women actually die more often from heart disease and it is more severe in them.
And here is another difference between a woman's and a man's heart.
A woman's heart is smaller and more sensitive. A man's heart is larger. In addition, women's vascular structures are also thinner. And there is a particularly high risk of damage to thin vessels.
Cholesterol accumulation occurs in various vessels. In men, cholesterol accumulates in vessels that have a larger diameter, in women – in thinner vessels, and even in capillaries.
Chronic diseases Diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity are still more dangerous for women, not for men. Thus, women with diabetes are 50% more likely to die from coronary heart disease.
Menopause. Coronary heart disease manifests itself in women seven to ten years later than in men. And the reason is that before menopause, a woman's body produces estrogen hormones. With the onset of menopause, they become less, which accelerates the development of atherosclerosis and increases the likelihood of coronary heart disease.
Symptoms of a heart attack are different. The main sign of a heart attack in men is chest pain, and in women – vomiting and nausea.
