Five foods that make it easier to stay slim after 40 were listed by nutritionist and medical expert of the Eat this, Not that! portal Lisa Young, Ph.D. According to the doctor, eating these foods helps to increase fat burning during physical activity.
Berries. They are rich in fiber, water, anti-inflammatory antioxidants and phytochemicals – all of which have a stimulating effect on metabolism.
“If you want to lose weight in your 40s, start adding raspberries, blueberries or strawberries to oatmeal, yogurt or smoothies,” the expert advised.
Avocado.Along with its high water content, its fruits contain low-calorie fiber. A study published in the Nutrition Journal showed that half an avocado at lunch helps you feel full for the next three to five hours. This product is also effective in reducing cravings for sweets.
Nuts and seeds. Micronutrients contained in nuts and seeds include antioxidants such as serotonin, tocopherols (vitamin E), flavonoids and resveratrol.
