Five houseplants that love small pots
0
When you look at a plant, you immediately select the right size pot. Some people need a larger one, some a smaller one. And this is where a mistake often occurs. It seems that a larger pot would suit the plant, with a margin of volume, but in it it stops growing and developing. The root system even begins to rot.
Which plants need a small pot
Growers know that there are plants that are simply created for cramped conditions. The best plants for such cultivation are:
- sansevieria;
- euphorbia;
- ficus;
- violet;
- balsam.
For sansevieria, it is recommended to choose a wide pot, but it should not be deep. The peculiarity of this plant is that the roots grow in width, not in depth.
Euphorbia feels comfortable when the roots rest against the bottom of the container, where there are drainage holes. It is recommended to transplant once a year. Ficus also needs a tight pot to avoid rot.
Violet feels great in tight pots, and balsam has weak roots, so in large pots it will not be able to actively grow. As a result, the balsam will not develop green mass well.
