Five mistakes that will ruin garlic planted before winter

Winter garlic has planting rules that must be followed. If you violate the rules of agricultural technology, it will sprout ahead of time or simply not sprout. Experts explained what exactly prevents you from growing large and healthy winter garlic.

The same place every year. The general rule of crop rotation applies to garlic. Do not plant it in the same place. By the way, it grows best after legumes, parsley, carrots, and beets.

Dates. You need to work on the beds when the temperature drops to +3 degrees, but not higher than +6 degrees. If it is warmer, it will sprout ahead of time. And at lower temperatures it will not have time to take root before winter.

Quality of garlic. Only the best and largest ones are needed for planting. Good garlic will grow from these. What kind of planting material is, what kind of harvest will it be?

Peeling off the husk. Garlic is not planted without the husk. It must be dry and undamaged. The bottom of the cloves also does not need to be trimmed. By the way, you need to disassemble the head into cloves before planting, not in advance.

Nitrogen fertilizers. In no case should you feed winter garlic with nitrogen mixtures. They stimulate the appearance of green mass and accelerate germination, which should not happen to garlic ahead of time.
