Evergreen shrub with beautiful candle-shaped flowers. Grows up to 30-60 cm tall. Can grow on poor soils, so it is quite easy to grow. Heather combines perfectly with other plants, so it is often used in landscape design to create flower beds and garden paths.
Soil. The plant likes to grow on acidic soils. That is why, when planting heather, add the same soil as blueberries – acidic peat.
Watering. Heather needs regular watering. Once a week. If the weather and temperature allow, then once every 2 weeks.
Mulching. Heather loves additional protection. You can mulch with bark.
Feeding. Interestingly, this plant does not need feeding. You can not constantly add various fertilizers for growth and flowering. In nature, heather grows on poor soils, so it grows well anyway. If there are other plants nearby, they will share with it.
Pruning. Sanitary pruning should be carried out once a year. You can cut 10 centimeters from the top for renewal.
Winter. To protect against the cold, you need to cover it with spruce branches for the winter.
