Many everyday habits are associated with excessive tension in the muscles and vertebrae in the neck. Doctors advise adjusting them so as not to suffer from pain in this part of the body.
Tip one: keep your smartphone at eye level. In the publication, doctors recommend that in order to avoid neck pain, try to keep your gadgets at eye level when using them. Holding your cell phone at chest level or on your lap puts your neck in an unnatural, tiring position, experts emphasize.
Tip two: use a headset. This is exactly how experts recommend talking on a cell phone. They urge you not to get into the habit of placing the phone between your head and shoulder.
Tip three: choose the right pillow. Those who like to sleep on a high pillow and in a stomach position are especially at risk of damaging their neck during sleep and developing pain syndrome.
Tip four: warm up when working while sitting. If you work in an office and spend a long time sitting, you should warm up at least every hour. According to experts, at such a moment you need to take a two-minute break – walk, do stretching exercises.
Tip five: avoid the need to squint. The habit of squinting also contributes to muscle tension in the neck, which over time can manifest itself in the form of pain.
