Five unpleasant signs that the body does not receive the necessary carbohydrates

Many people deliberately avoid carbohydrates to stay lean or to prevent blood sugar spikes. But the sources of carbohydrates are not only sweets, but also a wide range of useful products, such as fruits and berries, vegetables, whole grains: they contain fiber, as well as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants necessary for health. Therefore, if the body does not get enough carbohydrates, the following problems can occur.
Fatigue. Carbohydrates are converted into energy more efficiently than proteins or fats. Therefore, with their lack, you may feel more lethargic and tired during the day.
Abdominal bloating.This unpleasant symptom occurs when a person eats too few carbohydrate foods with fiber, which is one of the best stimulators of active bowel work.
Problems with concentration.In healthy carbohydrate products, fiber is combined with protein – this helps prevent fluctuations in blood sugar levels, which can cause fatigue and cognitive decline. When these foods are not used enough, we can experience difficulty in performing mental work.
Weight gain. If a person follows a low-carb diet for a long time, the body tries to compensate for the lack of them by producing its own glucose from protein or fat, and also strive to preserve its reserves (because it does not receive enough carbohydrates). All this contributes to the fact that fat deposits stop being used, no matter how hard you try to lose weight.
Digestion worsens. Constipation is a typical phenomenon on a low-carbohydrate diet, because the body does not receive the required amount of dietary fiber, necessary for normal digestion. This can lead to bloating, diarrhea and other problems with the gastrointestinal tract.
Foul breath. When there is a shortage of carbohydrates in the body, ketosis begins – the process of processing fat to produce energy (which usually it tries to extract from carbohydrates). At the same time, acetone is produced, which begins to accumulate in the body, causing bad breath.
