Thus, as part of the pre-trial investigation, which established the reasons for the flooding of the tunnels between the “Demiivska”-“Lybidska” metro stations, the prosecution conducted a number of necessary examinations.

“The conducted examination examined the quality of the construction of the tunnel, violations and any deviations that led to the depressurization of this tunnel have not been established,” the prosecutor's office notes, adding that the examination was conducted after the statement of the KP “Kyivskyi Metropoliten” about the allegedly poor quality construction of tunnels between the flooded stations.

According to the results of the commission's construction and technical examination, the conclusions were drawn that the technical cause of the destruction of the subway tunnel was its improper operation.

Law enforcement officers established that measures to eliminate the ingress of water into the tunnel were carried out in the period from March 2011 to December 2023. years without the involvement of specialists from scientific research institutes, the metro building, design and other organizations or individual specialists who would establish the causes of damage and provide recommendations for their elimination.

At the same time, the officials of the KP “Kyiv Metropoliten” did not provide the results of any examinations or other documents on which their statements about poor design decisions during the construction of the tunnel between the metro stations and alleged deviations from the design decisions during the construction of the tunnel were based, which allegedly led to to flooding.

“We draw your attention to the fact that in the message of KP “Kyiv Metropoliten” it is stated that “the results of the conducted studies are currently being finalized”, at the same time in January 2024 the KMDA stated that received the first preliminary conclusions from the Scientific-Research Forensic Expert Institution,” the agency added.

However, even at the request of the investigation officials of the KP “Kyivskyi metropoliten” and KMDA, the specified conclusions were not submitted to the pre-trial investigation body.

The day before, two officials of the Kyiv metro were informed of suspicion of official negligence, which caused the flooding of the tunnels between the “Demiivska” and “Lybidska” stations.

We remind you that the tunnel between the “Demiivska” – “Lybidska” metro stations in Kyiv was flooded in December in 2023. Almost immediately, the movement of trains between the metro stations “Demiivska” and “Teremky” (6 stations in total) was closed. It was previously reported that the repairs will last six months.
