According to nutritionist doctor Jan Marber, certain foods and nutrients can help improve cardiovascular health.

According to the British Heart Foundation, around a quarter of all human deaths are caused by heart disease. However, according to medical professionals, there are several lifestyle factors that can be used to improve the overall health of the cardiovascular system. Speaking about this, nutritionist doctor Ian Marber noted that in order to maintain good myocardial health, you should eat “certain foods”.

Berries. They are packed with antioxidants, such as anthocyanins, which protect against inflammation that contributes to heart disease. Several studies have shown that berries are a food that can reduce several risk factors associated with heart disease at once.

Onions. Garlic, onions, shallots, onions- leeks are part of this family of vegetables. When they are consumed, the body receives allicin, a substance that has several advantages for the health of the myocardium: in particular, it maintains normal blood pressure, restrains the growth of cholesterol.

Foods with fiber. As the doctor notes, fiber helps to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood, binding any excess that hides in the intestines, and also helps to maintain a stable level of glucose. Fiber is found in many foods, including whole grains, legumes, vegetables and whole fruits, nuts and seeds, mushrooms.

Oily fish. Rich in omega-3 fats, which “play more than one role in strengthening the cardiovascular system”. These healthy fats can contribute to normal cholesterol and blood pressure. Doctor's advice: eat at least one portion a week.
