The condition of the skin and age-related changes in appearance depend on bad habits, external factors, care, nutrition also plays a significant role – the skin also has its own needs in nutrients.
A well-known scientist from the University of Edinburgh told how to eat in order to preserve the youth of the skin. Dr. Rupi Ozhla, who has been called “Britain's leading voice” on nutrition, recommends avoiding foods high in iron. In particular, we are talking about red meat – beef, lamb.
Such products intensify age-related changes in the skin. According to the scientist, products with a high content of antioxidants, collagen and minerals, as well as products with an anti-inflammatory effect, can slow down the aging process. First of all, these are vegetables and fruits, the daily use of which can slow down the aging of the skin.
In addition, a low-protein diet can reduce the production of growth hormone, which accelerates age-related changes. As the scientist notes, everything boils down to simple principles of healthy nutrition: mostly plant-based food, necessarily high-quality fats (nuts and seeds), eating foods with a high fiber content and whole, unprocessed food.
Don't forget about a sufficient amount of water – a lack of moisture has a negative effect on the condition of the skin. It is also important that there is enough protein in the diet, which is necessary for the production of collagen and skin repair.
All this helps to prevent unnecessary inflammatory processes, reduce cell damage and slow down the aging process.
