A child's body is distinguished by its fragility and sensitivity. Some products that adults happily consume have a completely different effect on a child. We are talking about seemingly harmless things. We consider these products to be completely harmless, but in fact they pose a huge danger to children.
Skim milk
Most parents prefer not to give their children whole cow's milk, preferring skim, almond or soy milk. It is believed that these are healthier types. But in fact, scientists have long established that low fat content can lead to more sad consequences and health problems for children.
In particular, children who drink non-cow's milk are twice as likely to have low levels of vitamin D. Such children are also on average 1.5 centimeters shorter than those who drink three cups of cow's milk.
Nuts
Nuts can provide enormous benefits, for example, enhance brain activity. But at the same time, they are extremely allergenic. Therefore, even if a child does not have an allergy, there is a certain risk. Therefore, it is better not to give children under four years of age whole nuts. But the product should not be excluded: an acceptable option is to add crushed nuts to pasta or puree.
Sausage, hot dogs, nuggets
These products are harmful to absolutely everyone – both children and adults. However, children's fragile bodies are not ready for such products at all, they will cause irreparable harm. The fact is that sausage, hot dogs, nuggets contain a lot of preservatives, for example, nitrates. They are the ones that harm the body. And their excessive amount can lead to the development of various types of cancer. The most optimal way to replace such harmful products is with steamed chicken or turkey meat.
Canned fruits in syrup
It is believed that canned fruits are not as healthy as fresh ones. But scientists have refuted this fact, stating that they have the same benefits as fresh ones. However, there are still some negative consequences. Most often they are sold in sweet syrups, which contain an incredible amount of sugar. That is why children are not recommended to eat them, because an excessive amount of fruit in sugar syrup will lead to obesity. It is better to choose fruits in natural syrup, it is much healthier.
Seafood
Fish and seafood contain a lot of useful and nutritious substances. Of course, this will be useful for the child, so why did we include these products in our list, you ask? Firstly, seafood should be introduced into the diet only from a certain age. For example, the Japanese, who eat fish constantly, give it to children only from 4-5 years old.
Secondly, some of these products can harm the child. The reason is that manufacturers very often label products incorrectly, disguising cheap (or even smuggled) fish as expensive. In addition, it may contain a large amount of mercury or other dangerous substances.
It is most optimal to give fish to a child from 4-5 years old, and also to choose seafood that contains the least mercury. These include salmon, crab. In addition, children should not eat raw fish, which is often found in sushi and rolls. Do not forget that children should also have all vaccinations, including hepatitis A.
Cocoa and coffee
Almost all parents know about coffee. But cocoa is considered the most children's drink, but this is not really the case. After all, it also contains caffeine, which can cause various problems – nervousness, frequent urination, insomnia, rapid heartbeat. The same effects await children when drinking coffee.
Cocoa can also be dangerous because of the large amount of sugar in its composition. Therefore, if you want to please your baby with such a drink, then it should be given in small quantities and only in the morning. In addition, monitor the sugar level in it.
Marshmallows
Marshmallows can cause choking. Even if the marshmallow is not small, it still melts quickly. When laughing, food can get into the respiratory tract. Also, marshmallows contain a large amount of sugar, so it is better to give up purchased sweets. The most optimal would be to make marshmallows with your own hands and then give them to children.
Mushroom
Toddlers rarely know about the dangers of mushrooms, so the first duty of parents is to tell their children about it. If you go to the forest, you should show poisonous species and in no case give them while playing outside. These products, like marshmallows, can cause suffocation.
The second danger of mushrooms is that they contain a lot of fiber. This substance is extremely poorly digested in a weak body. Therefore, it is better to start giving mushrooms to children at the age of 5-6, not earlier. In addition, do not buy mushrooms from your hands. This will protect not only your child, but also yourself from poisonous and untested species.
Corn
Corn causes flatulence and leads to colic in young children. These unpleasant sensations will cause a lot of discomfort, so it is better to give up corn in the diet by the age of one or two. In addition, it is a strong allergen, so you need to monitor how your child reacts to eating corn.
Cabbage
Cabbage also causes gas formation, like corn. This vegetable should be introduced into children's diets from the age of two to avoid unpleasant sensations.
