Specialists conducted a large-scale study aimed at studying metabolism in people throughout life. His results were commented by a candidate of medical sciences, an endocrinologist.
According to the conclusions reached by the researchers, the metabolism does not change for almost 40 years (in the period c 20 to 60 years) both in men and in women Scientists also note that it is in principle slower in the latter.
“So if you have recovered before the age of 60, there is nothing to do with slowing down the metabolism,” the doctor wrote on her Instagram page, noting that “ no matter how good we look, at the age of 60 age-related sores begin and the metabolism slows down”.
The doctor clarified that there are also individual characteristics. According to her, there are people by nature not only with a very high metabolism, but also with a very low one. “But in general, these are the usual exceptions to the rules,” the doctor wrote.
In this regard, the endocrinologist recommended that everyone under 60 should be extremely prepared. She advises to keep in good shape and gain muscle. “And then the increase in life expectancy will only please,” the endocrinologist concluded.
