For health and longevity: scientists have evaluated the benefits of weekend training

< p>Those who do not have time to do sports or visit the fitness room during the working week can devote the weekend to it. As the scientists found out, from the point of view of the effect on longevity, there is practically no difference between distributing physical exercises evenly throughout the week or training hard on Saturday and Sunday.

The results of the study were published in JAMA Internal Medicine. The scientists' conclusions are based on information about the health of more than 350,000 US adults who were followed for an average of just over 10 years.

The study showed that people who do all their exercises in one or two sessions on the weekend reduce the risk of premature death almost as much as their peers who spread out their exercise and training throughout the week. As the authors of the work note, people who engage in various types of physical activity on weekends or during the week have lower mortality rates than those who are physically inactive.

The main thing is to adhere to the total time that should be allocated to such activities. . Experts recommend at least 150 minutes. moderate or 75 min. of vigorous exercise per week for people aged 18 to 64.
