Four factors without which it is impossible to correctly place fruit trees on the site

Just planting trees wherever you want is not recommended. This will prevent them from growing, developing normally, and the fruits will not be able to give the expected harvests. Compatibility of trees is the main rule of thumb for a gardener to know.

Factors of mutual influence

Gardeners identify three factors that influence the choice of tree location. Among them are the following:

  • illumination of the place;
  • level of penetration of the roots into the soil;
  • competition for nutrients;
  • allelopathy (the ability to suppress other plants).

The level of illumination is important correctly choose trees by height. Tall specimens should not block the access of short plants to the sun. And according to the level of penetration of the roots into the soil, it will be possible to create comfortable conditions for everyone, and not survival in the competition for moisture and nutrients.

Who interferes with whom

Taking into account growth factors and need, about apple trees, it is not recommended to plant walnut, barberry, roses, viburnum, lilac, birch. Pear and quince will be the best neighbors for an apple tree. Experts also single out the following pairs that do not like joint cultivation:

  • cherry and currant;
  • strawberry and raspberry ;
  • gooseberry and raspberry, apple tree;
  • pear and plum.

Quite often, summer residents risk planting sea buckthorn. The problem is that it grows well only with a similar tree. But it has an extremely negative effect on the rest of the plants.
