Four reasons to give up carbs for breakfast

Eating carbohydrates in the morning negatively affects blood sugar levels, mood, and energy throughout the day.

Various studies have shown that eating a carbohydrate-rich meal right after waking up for breakfast can lead to the release of chemicals such as dopamine, which ultimately make a person feel sluggish and lazy, and also increase their tendency to gain weight. In turn, The Health Site reported on five reasons why it is better to give up carbohydrates for breakfast.

Glycemic response increases. This reaction is a reflection of the level of glucose in the blood after eating a meal. Carbohydrates can cause it to rise sharply – this will mean that the glucose content in the blood is also very significant. Such fluctuations have a bad effect on the endocrine system, exhausting the pancreas.

Insulin sensitivity decreases.Consuming carbohydrates at the first meal contributes to an increase in blood sugar levels and the release of insulin in response. Regular carbohydrate breakfasts can significantly reduce insulin sensitivity, which will affect the appearance of excess fat on the abdomen.

Sensitivity to leptin decreases. Leptin is a satiety hormone. Since a breakfast full of carbohydrates reduces sensitivity to it, a person does not feel full and becomes prone to overeating.

Dysbiosis develops. The appearance of dysbiosis means that there is an imbalance in the intestinal microbiota – this is usually due to the loss of beneficial microbes and the spread of pathogenic ones. Carbohydrates consumed on an empty stomach contribute to this imbalance, causing symptoms such as water retention, bloating, gas and bloating, and bowel movements.
