Four rules for preparing houseplants for winter
1
Caring for and preparing for winter requires not only for garden plants. House plants also need attention. Find a free day and carry out the four stages of care. This will help the plants enter the winter period prepared and full of strength.
What to do
In winter, plants do not need as much attention as in other seasons. This means that they should not be harmed by unnecessary actions. In autumn, they need the following:
- A pot. It should be larger. Before winter, change it to a larger plant. This should be done before December so that the plants have time to adapt.
- Processing. In winter, plants become vulnerable, so pests can do their dirty work. Treat with insecticides in the fall. But periodically during the winter, check the leaves for the presence or absence of pests. Control will never be superfluous.
- Watering and feeding. Watering is less frequent in winter than in other seasons. And autumn feeding is mostly enough until spring itself.
- Lighting. Check what conditions your plants need. It may be necessary to organize extra lighting.
With proper care, the plants will calmly and successfully survive the winter, and in the spring they will begin to grow and bloom. A little attention and home flowers will thank you with their beauty.
