From babies to the elderly. How much do you need to sleep and why?

Sleep is a very important part of life. Its quality and duration depends on health and mental well -being. Sleep helps the body to recover in every sense of the word. Particularly important is the normal sleep mode for children and adolescents – otherwise there may be various problems, up to mental disorders. If you sleep regularly for less than seven hours, your performance is greatly reduced, it is much more time to perform certain cases. Therefore, time savings are meaningless. Studies show that those who sleep regularly less than seven hours a day are highly at risk of undermining health. However, the amount of necessary sleep is also influenced by the individual characteristics of the body, as well as nutrition, lifestyle and other factors.

newborns need to sleep for 14 hours. From one year to two the norm is eleven hours. For preschool children, the norm varies from 10 to 13 hours. It takes 9-10 hours of sleep for schoolchildren. The same amount of sleep is needed by the elderly.
