From cholesterol and for longevity: the Japanese revealed which product should be eaten every day

Daily use of this popular product can improve metabolism and normalize bowel function. Scientists found this out.

As reported by the Japanese publication Nihon Keizai, we are talking about avocados. The author of the article referred to a study by American specialists, in which 163 patients of different sexes from 25 to 45 years of age participated. It is clarified that the body mass index (BMI) of the subjects was at least 25, while the norm is below a similar indicator.

Participants were divided into two groups with the same daily amount of consumed calories. But in the first group, men ate an additional 175 grams of avocado, women – 140 grams.

It turned out that with the daily use of this product, the first group managed to get 20 grams more monounsaturated fatty acids. In addition, they received 14 grams more dietary fiber and 300 kilocalories more than the participants of the second group.

After conducting certain analyses, scientists found out that avocados are also able to improve the diversity of bacteria in the intestines. This, in turn, is of particular importance, since a decrease in the indicator leads to the development of some diseases.

In addition, monounsaturated fatty acids in avocado fruits help reduce the level of “bad” – LDL – cholesterol in the body.

Scientists also noticed that the first group had a greater number of bacteria that ferment and break down food fibers. At the same time, bile acids lead to intestinal inflammation, on the contrary, it turned out to be less.
