Fruits, vegetables and sports are the secrets of happiness

A new study shows that active consumption of fruit and vegetables in combination with physical activity increases the level of happiness. Diseases associated with unhealthy lifestyles lead to unhappiness precisely because they worsen health.
Research has shown that eating fruits and vegetables along with regular physical activity increases happiness. Science has previously shown a link between lifestyle and human well-being, and references to these studies have been heavily used in public health campaigns that encourage healthy eating and exercise.
However, new findings have shown that there is a positive causal relationship between lifestyle and life satisfaction.
This is the first study of its kind to reveal this relationship between happiness, fruit and vegetable consumption, and physical activity. It does not generalize the relationship, but specifies it.
The authors of the study are scientists from the universities of Kent and Reading in Great Britain. They used an instrumental variable method to filter out any effect of happiness and lifestyle.
Research shows that we are more likely to be happy because of eating fruits and vegetables and exercising, rather than the other way around. The findings show that people's ability to delay gratification and use self-control plays a very important role in making lifestyle decisions.
And this, in turn, has a positive effect on well-being. Also, if the results of the study are to be believed, men exercise more, and women more actively focus on fruits and vegetables.
