Frying sausages and steaks at home turned out to be dangerous
0
Research commissioned by the environmental charity Global Action Plan (GAP) has shown that the peak indoor pollution with ultra-fine particles occurs when sausages and steaks are fried.
The tiny particles are believed to be particularly harmful to health, as they can enter the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body to vital organs.
For example, cooking a Sunday roast on a gas stove can lead to pollution of the home with fine particles, the levels of which far exceed levels found in the most polluted cities on Earth.
According to Chris Large, a senior partner at GAP, it's important to understand that air pollution is everywhere, but there are many things you can do, both indoors and outdoors. Use your car less, walk or cycle more, and open the window when cooking at home.
