Gardeners named three rules for planting fruit trees in autumn
0
Most trees are planted in autumn, among which the main attention is focused on apple and pear trees. It is believed that the best time for them is in the first decade of October. It is during this period that the weather conditions are optimal for them to have time to adapt and take root. It is necessary to do the planting correctly so that the seedlings do not die.
How to plant correctly
The main rule that must be followed is the correct depth of the grafting site. Here you need to pay attention to several factors. If the seedling is on an ordinary rootstock on sandy soil, the graft should be deepened by 5 cm. This will help to avoid wild growth. for the rest of the seedlings, the grafting site is not deepened and is left at ground level.
It is important to follow this recommendation for trees with rootstocks of dwarf varieties, because deepening the grafting will lead to unnecessary consequences. The tree will cease to be dwarf, because it will begin to grow and develop at the expense of its own root system.
The diameter of the planting hole for an apple tree should be from 60 to 100 cm, and for a pear at least 70-80 cm. Another rule applies distance to other trees. Take this into account, because replanting later will be difficult both for you and for the tree. Pears are planted at a distance of 3-4 m from other trees, and apple trees – at least 5 m.
Seedlings need to be provided with quality nutrition. You need to put 100 g of potash fertilizer, 200 g of superphosphate and 2 liters of well-rotted humus in the planting hole. Mix with garden soil. On this fertilizer, apple and pear trees will definitely take root and develop well.
