Cabbage likes neutral soil. It is best to plant it where the predecessors were nightshades, cucumbers, legumes, carrots, onions and garlic. In the place where cabbage grew, it can be replanted only after 4 years.

It is better to plant cabbage in open soil on a cloudy or rainy day. If planted in a sunny place, it will wither and will not be accepted. Early varieties of cabbage can be planted at a distance of 30 cm from each other. Seedlings of mid-ripening varieties at a distance of 45 cm, and late varieties at a distance of 50-60 cm. Make the necessary number of holes on the dug bed. At the bottom of the hole, you can pour a handful of wood ash and crushed eggshell. If the soil on the site is very dense, you can add a little sand to each hole.

Cabbage should be planted so that it hides in the hole until the first real leaves. Fill the hole with earth and compact it. Water the cabbage thoroughly. In sunny weather, it should be covered with something so that it does not burn. Do not allow the soil to dry out. If a crust forms, be sure to loosen the soil so that the plant can breathe.
