Beets should be sown sparsely, because one seed can sprout three fruits at once. When they germinate, thin out so that there is a distance of 15-20 centimeters between the plants.

Without thinning, they will be small. Beets are resistant to drought, but if they do not have enough moisture, they will not grow large.  But don't water often, because the soil compacts, air does not reach the roots and the beets do not grow well.

And in order for the beets to be sweet, you cannot fertilize them with manure. During the decomposition of manure, a lot of nitrogen is formed, and this affects the growth of the top, not the fruit. The beets will be dry, crusty with white veins and bitter. On acidic soil, beets also grow bitter. It can be deacidified with ash or eggshells.
