Details
Cut off all dry and damaged branches. If you see that the bush is very thick, then to thin it out, cut out healthy shoots.
Leave no more than 15 branches on the blackcurrant bush. On currants – 15-20 shoots, so that they are no older than 8 years. On blackcurrant bushes, the tops should be cut so that more berries can be set.
After pruning, gardeners advise to treat with special means against fungal infections. In the spring, you need to water the bushes abundantly, at least 2-3 times a month, 1 bucket for each. Currants do not need as much moisture as black currants, they can be watered less often.
