Gardeners told how wood ash can harm radishes
Ash is a natural useful fertilizer that is used by all gardeners and summer residents. But there are plants that ash can harm. Radish does not like this fertilizer.
Details
Wood ash contains such substances as potassium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus. It deacidifies the soil, so some plants do not accept such fertilizer.
Radishes, sorrel, turnips and watermelons will not grow on soil fertilized with ash. Sorrel grows well only in acidic soil.
Many gardeners are used to fighting aphids on radish with the help of ash, shaking it over the beds.
And after that, the plant quickly goes downhill. Therefore, for radishes, do not use ash as a fertilizer and for pest control, so as not to harm the crop.
