Garden treatment in the fall is often done with copper sulfate. This is one of the basic tools that every summer resident should have. Read more about why in the post.
Use of copper sulfate
For fruit trees and many plants in the garden, the risk of contracting fungal infections is a serious danger. Rarely does anyone go through the season without these troubles. It is worth mentioning that we are talking about various rots, late blight, scab, rust and other fungal infections. The soil must also be treated to destroy the pathogens.
When to use. It is recommended to spray the plants and soil until a stable temperature of zero degrees is established. If the plants have often been sick during the season, and you have fought an unequal battle for the opportunity to preserve the crop, then the treatment should definitely not be skipped.
Pests. Copper sulfate is able to neutralize not only pathogenic bacteria. It also works effectively against pests.
Rates of application. For young trees under 6 years of age, 2 liters of solution is sufficient for treatment, for adults – up to 10 liters. In the autumn period and in case of tree diseases, it is recommended to use a 3% concentration of copper sulfate in the amount of 300 g per 10 liters of water.
